Onion Peeler Machine

An Onion Peeler Machine for industrial use differs from garlic peelers in its ability to handle larger sizes and thicker skins. For a capacity of 100 kg/hr to 1,000 kg/hr, you can choose between a Batch Type (for small units) or a Continuous Chain-Type (for high-volume factories).

Just like garlic, onion peeling is a Dry Process that uses a high-pressure swirling airflow to remove the skin without damaging the edible part.1

1. Types of Onion Peeling Systems

Feature

Batch Type (100–300 kg/hr)

Continuous Chain Type (500–1,000 kg/hr)

None (Dry Technology)3

None (Dry Technology)4

2. Technical Specifications (1,000 kg/hr Model)

  • Material: Food Grade Stainless Steel (SS 304).
  • Peeling Rate: 98% to 99% (Works for all onion sizes).
  • Compressed Air Requirement: 0.8–1.0 MPa (Requires a high-volume Air Compressor).
  • Air Volume: 2.0 to 3.0  CFM .
  • Power: 1.5 kW to 3.0 kW (Electrical) + Compressor load.
  • Dimensions: Approximately 92300X 1000X 1800 MM

3. The "Onion Processing Line" Flow

To achieve 1,000 kg/hr efficiently, the peeling machine is often combined with other units:

  1. Onion Root & Tail Cutter: Automatically cuts both ends of the onion
  2. Elevator: Moves cut onions to the peeler.
  3. Onion Peeler: Removes the outer skin using air.
  4. Inspection Conveyor: Manual check for any unpeeled spots.
  5. Dicer/Slicer: (Optional) If you are making onion paste, rings, or flakes.
