Mixing Machines For Potatoes - Vegetables And Snacks
Mixing machines for
potato chips, vegetables, and snacks—commonly known as Coating Pans or Seasoning
Drums—are designed to apply dry spices, oils, or liquid slurries uniformly
without breaking the fragile product.
1. Types of Coating
Systems
Depending on your
production volume and product type, you will choose between a Batch Pan or a Continuous
Drum.
A. Tilting Coating
Pan (Batch Type)
This is the most
common machine for small to medium-sized snack manufacturers. It features a
round, handi-shaped bowl that rotates at an angle.
- Best For: Potato chips, peanuts, popcorn,
and makhana (foxnuts).
- Mechanism: The product is loaded into the
bowl, and as it rotates, the operator sprinkles masala or sprays oil. The
tumbling action ensures every surface is covered.
- Capacity: 10 kg to 100 kg per batch.
- Tilting Feature: After mixing, the bowl
can be tilted downward to easily discharge the product.
B. Continuous
Seasoning Drum (Industrial Type)
For large-scale
factories, a long horizontal drum is used. The product enters one end and exits
the other, seasoned and ready for packing.
- Best For: Continuous production lines
(e.g., Kurkure, puffed snacks, high-volume potato chips).
- Automation: Integrated with a Screw Feeder
for masala and a Peristaltic Pump for liquid flavor spraying.
- Capacity: 200 kg/hr to 1,500 kg/hr.
