Dried Fruits Mixer Machine
For a dried fruit production line, "Screw Type"
mixers are primarily used for gentle blending and seasoning/salting. Because
dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots) are often sticky or delicate, the
machine must balance thorough mixing with a "low-shear" action to
prevent bruising or mashing the fruit.
There are two main configurations for screw mixers in
this industry:
1. Horizontal Screw (Seasoning/Salt Mixer)
This is the most common for snacks. It features a
horizontal U-shaped trough with a central shaft and a helical screw (often
called a Ribbon Mixer if it has double ribbons).
- Function:
Evenly distributes salt, sugar, or preservatives onto the surface of the
dried fruit.
- Capacity:
Typically ranges from 60 kg/hr to 500 kg/hr.
- Key
Detail: Often equipped with a Liquid Spray System (atomizing nozzles).
Since salt doesn't stick well to dry fruit, the screw flips the fruit
while a fine mist of oil or glycerin is sprayed to act as a
"glue" for the seasoning.
